Broken Trust

You came

a light, a rainbow vibrant,

shining scarlet and cobalt

in a camouflage world.

You sang

sweet music, a harmony

settling into daisies and snow

You left

without warning,

broken pieces scattered

blood red and cobalt tears,

fragments littered on the floor.

Broken trust, broken dreams

no song or rainbow can repair;

the door is closed and locked,

lest you come again

with sweet promises and smiles.
